Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the paper advancing, but the copy printing out blank?

  • Check to see if the thermal roll was put in backwards. The roll is inserted correctly when the leading edge is pulled "over the top" of the roll.

Why is the copy printing out light?

  • The cause could be one of several reasons:
    a) Old thermal paper
    b) Old dry markers - or not pressing hard enough to produce an even color line
    c) Poor lighting of the fluorescent lamp - fluorescent lamp may need replacement depending on age or use of board
    d) Dirt/Dust on mirror and CCD lens - depending on environment

Why is there a solid black line in the middle of my printout on my new copyboard?

  • Most likely the cause is a bent frame stiffener which can be damaged during shipment of a new copyboard. If the frame stiffener is bent in the middle, this blocks some of the light to the CCD camera, which causes a solid black line in the middle of the printout. To correct this problem, the frame stiffener needs to be straightened out.
